The Tac-79 Pistol brings a compact footprint and plenty of character to your signaling kit. This launcher is a signaling device, NOT a firearm. Whether your next outing involves dry land or a boat deck, choose the configuration suited to the assignment.

Planning maritime duty? Select the 6" USCG version above for the USCG-approved configuration. We engrave approval number 160.028/29/0 on the side of the launcher and include the required 37mm-to-12ga flare adapter for compatible standard 12-gauge boat flares. Consider it the maritime equipment package—boat and captain’s hat sold separately.

⚠️ Rules of Engagement: Signaling Flares, Not Firearm Ammunition

Our 37mm launchers are NOT firearms. That means no firearm ammunition—period. Do not use adapters to fire 12-gauge shotgun ammunition, centerfire cartridges, rimfire cartridges, or Beehive rounds through this launcher. The included USCG-package adapter is for compatible 12-gauge signaling flares only. Same gauge does not mean same mission.

Misuse risks serious damage, personal injury, and potential ATF violations. Review the BATF rules before use. Your warranty also gets an immediate dishonorable discharge if you ignore these restrictions.

The pistol version weighs just 2 lb 6 oz, giving you a compact signaling platform without making your gear bag feel like a conditioning exercise. It comes with a Mil-Spec A2-style AR pistol grip and accepts compatible AR-style replacement grips.

Prefer a shoulder configuration? The platform supports compatible AR-style stock setups using the appropriate mounting hardware. No buffer or buffer spring is required. A little configuration flexibility goes a long way when your gear preferences change.

Clean Barrel. No Extra Baggage.

The standard short-barrel version does not include Picatinny rails. Its barrel is plain and undrilled, keeping the profile clean and straightforward. Picatinny rails are a special-order option, so plan your accessory wish list accordingly.
